Postdoc position: Risk assessment of N and P leaching from forest ecosystems

The offered postdoc position ‘Risk assessment of N and P leaching from forest ecosystems’ is under supervision of Annemieke Gärdenäs, Department of Biological and Environment Sciences, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The holder of the position will collaborate within the BECC-program (Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a Changing Climate; between Universities of Gothenburg and Lund, as well as with Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL).

The employment includes a variety of assignments such as; (further) development of a biogeochemical model adjusted to the research questions, trend-analyses of soil and stream water chemistry, scenario and risk assessment. Some fieldwork may be included. The position might also include limited teaching and the supervision of MSc and PhD students as long as it fits with the primary job assignments.

The applicant must hold a PhD in an area relevant for the tasks at hand, Biogeochemistry, Biophysics, System Ecology, Soil Science, Forestry or related subject, or a foreign exam similar to a PhD exam in a relevant area. Preference will be given to candidates who have been awarded the degree no more than three years before the application deadline. Applicants with a degree awarded earlier may also be preferred if specific reasons exist. Such specific reasons may be a leave due to illness, parental leave, military service or a union post.
