This year, Geoverbund ABC/J is organizing the festival together with the Department of Geosciences of the University of Cologne.     Invitation to 19th International Congress on the Carboniferous and Permian

    The 19th International Congress on the Carboniferous and Permian is to be held at the University of Cologne, Cologne, Germany, July, 29th–August, 2nd, 2019. It is a special privilege, to host the ICCP again in Central Europe, following the successful meetings in Cracow 1995 and Utrecht 2003, and forty-eight years after the meeting in Krefeld 1971, hitherto the only “Congres International du Stratigraphie et Géologie du Carbonifère” held in Germany.     DFG Roundtable Workshop „Scientific Utilisation of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) Mission in Germany“

    About forty scientists from oceanography, hydrology, cryosphere research, geodesy and remote sensing met at the University of Bonn’s Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation on February 7 and 8, 2019, to discuss potential applications of the SWOT (Surface Water and Ocean Topography) satellite mission, which will be launched by NASA and CNES in late 2021. The workshop was organized by Luciana Fenoglio and Jürgen Kusche from the Astronomical, Physical and Mathematical (APMG) group at IGG and was funded by DFG.
