The Centre for High-Performance Scientific Computing in Terrestrial Systems (HPSC TerrSys) offers a Fall School for Master- and PhD students as well as PostDocs interested in Terrestrial Modelling and High-Performance Scientific Computing in Bonn, Germany (10-14 October 2016) . The school is supported by Geoverbund ABC/J and is free for its members.

ABC/J Summer School on Inverse Modelling in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Register now!
Geoverbund ABC/J Summer School 2016 targets researchers, practitioners, and students in earth and environmental sciences that would like to advance their knowledge about inverse modeling methods and how such methods can be used to quantify uncertainty, and diagnose, detect and resolve structural inadequacies in statistical, conceptual and physically based models. The course provides an introduction to new concepts, algorithms and computational frameworks for estimating parameter, model, and predictive uncertainty from experimental data. Registration is requested until 17 June 2016 at the latest.

Die Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses ist ein besonderes Anliegen des Geoverbundes ABC/J. Deshalb verleiht er auch in diesem Jahr - zum bereits sechsten Mal - den ABC/J Forschungspreis für herausragende Arbeiten aus den Geowissenschaften einschließlich der Geographie. Bewerbungen und Vorschläge sind nur noch bis zum 31. März 2016 möglich!

Tag der Neugier 2016 - 60 Jahre Forschung im Zentrum
Das Forschungszentrum Jülich öffnet am Sonntag, 5. Juni 2016, seine Türen und freut sich auf viele neugierige Gäste. Von 10 bis 17 Uhr können kleine und große Besucherinnen und Besucher den Campus erkunden, Forschung hautnah erleben und mit Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern ins Gespräch kommen. Auch der Geoverbund ABC/J wird vor Ort vertreten sein.
