    Within the frame of this years SEG's Distinguished Instructor Short Course (DISC), Dr. Douglas Oldenburg (University of British Columbia, Canada) is sharing his insights on Fundamentals and Applications of Geophysical Electromagnetics in ~30 locations worldwide and we are very pleased to cordially invite you to the DISC course in Bonn on September 18. The course is intended for practitioners, graduate students, and researchers who are using or want to use electromagnetic methods (including DC resistivity, GPR and IP) for exploration, geotechnical, and environmental applications.     1st International Summer Snowfall Workshop at University of Cologne

    47 scientists from 8 different countries met at the first International Summer Snowfall Workshop, held at University of Cologne's Institute for Geophysics and Meteorology from 28 - 30 June 2017. The workshop was organized by the recently founded Emmy-Noether Group OPTIMIce (Optimal combination of Polarimetric and Triple frequency radar techniques for Improving Microphysical process understanding of cold clouds).

    The Transregional Collaborative Research Centre 32 (TR32) and the Centre of Excellence High-Performance Scientific Computing in Terrestrial Systems (HPSC TerrSys) will organise a Conference on "Monitoring and Prediction of Terrestrial System States and High Performance Computing in Terrestrial Systems Research" from April 3 to 5, 2018 in Bonn.

    SAGES-training: Employability after a PhD - free places for Geoverbund ABC/J members

    The Scottish Alliance of Geoscience, Environment & Society (SAGES) - network partner of Geoverbund ABC/J - is offering up to five places for Geoverbund ABC/J post-graduates at this autumn's SAGES Graduate School Retriet in Aviemore. This years’ focus is on enhancing employment skills after a PhD. It will also be a good opportunity for meeting SAGES students and enjoying some Highland hospitality! The course and accommodation is provided by SAGES whereas Geoverbund ABC/J students need to fund their own travel to and from Scotland.
