    Blog "A Bridge to Africa"

For one week in autumn 2018 young scientists from Ghana and other African regions will meet geoscientists from Geoverbund ABC/J in Accra, to get in contact with the latest methods of modern geoscientific research – modeling and simulation with supercomputers. The vision: Soil Research can support a secure and sustainable food production for Africa – and a week together could be the first step for future cooperation of geoscientists from both sides of the bridge. This project diary will report regularly how the bridge building advances. Mehr: Blog "A Bridge to Africa" …

Experienced Postdoc for the Coordination of the Simulation Laboratory Terrestrial Systems

01.02.2018 - Centre of Excellence for High-Performance Scientific Computing in Terrestrial Systems (HPSC TerrSys), Forschungszentrum Jülich

Simulation Laboratories (SimLabs) act as interfaces between the computational science communities and the HPSC resources at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), operating one of the most powerful HPSC infrastructures in Europe. The SimLab Terrestrial Systems (SimLab TerrSys) is part of the JSC and the centre of excellence for High-Performance Scientific Computing in Terrestrial Systems (HPSC TerrSys), which was founded as an initiative of Geoverbund ABC/J in 2011. SimLab TerrSys conducts HPSC in geosciences and contributes to an improved understanding and prediction of geophysical, hydrological, meteorological and bio-geochemical processes in terrestrial systems.
