HyCo-Geo Summer School 2022 “Hydrological Extreme Events”

26.-30.09.2022 RWTH Aachen

The first HyCo-Geo Summer School on “Hydrological Extreme Events” will take place at the RWTH Aachen Gästehaus in Aachen from 26th until 30th of September! The Hydro Competence Center (short HyCo-Geo) is a project of the ABC/J Geoverbund, a coalition initiative of the RWTH Aachen, the University of Cologne, the University of Bonn, and the Forschungszentrum Jülich. The HyCo-Geo initiative aims at promoting the hydrological competence and interdisciplinary research within the ABC/J institutions, always with a strong focus on teaching.

The Summer School will deal with hydrological extreme events, flooding as well as drought, from a variety of different perspectives like engineering, sedimentology, climatology, economics and many more. Participants will get the opportunity to gain unique insights into hydrological research with presentations by experts all across the field of hydrology. Each presentation will be enhanced by a following discussion. Moreover, each afternoon a hands-on session will teach valuable skills in related methods like, e.g., Delft 3D. Two field trips with local experts complete the program.
